The Community Input Forum, previously the Adult Life Cycle, has transformed ideas into community initiatives. Currently, they have three subcommittees dedicated to different projects.
The Veeder House Subcommittee is working on founding a warm, structured, supervised, facility for adults with serious mental illness. This proposed facility will provide clients with short or long-term residence as well as rehabilitation and education programs. They are busy developing immediate and sustainable funding, licensing requirements, and other necessities to bring this initiative into reality!
The Volunteer Center Subcommittee has been successful! The Volunteer Center has opened! The center is located at 915 Santa Rita St. in the heart of Silver City. The center is matching volunteers to agencies, organizations and individuals they can best serve. To learn more call 388-2988.

The Health Insurance Subcommittee is organizing support for the New Mexico Health Care Plan that will offer every New Mexico resident affordable health care coverage. The plan was endorsed by the GCCHC at a special meeting on January 8, 2003.
The Community Input Forum has since ceased meeting due to the formation of coreteams in the community which are dealing with individual issues in the systems approach model. If you have any issues you'd like to make the Health Council aware of Grant County please contact the Health Council to help get you involved in making Grant County a better place to live.
